Project Updates

The following is an update from the AALC Foundation.

Abiding Grace Lutheran, Gillett, WY

WYGilletteAbidingGraceA budding mission congregation of The AALC, closed a loan Friday, September 5, to purchase a "Boys and Girls Club of America" facility. They are now working feverishly to convert the property into a center for their ministry.

The members of Abiding Grace are grateful for your helping them accumulate the $60,000 down payment they needed to purchase this property.

Members and friends of Abiding Grace raised $33,000 of the $60,000 needed before reaching a plateau. AALC members who heard of their plight through the Foundation's appeal sent gifts totaling $4,967.00.

Additional gifts from The AALC's Commission on American Missions fund ($10,000), Ascension Lutheran Church of Ames, IA ($10,000), Pilot Knob Lutheran Church of Forest City, IA ($1,000), Faith Lutheran of Holstein, IA ($1,000), New Hope Fellowship Lutheran of Laurel, MT ($250), and Barn Again Lutheran of Tijeras, NM ($200) enabled Abiding grace to close their loan. All told, gifts from The AALC's members given to Abiding Grace through the Foundation, and TAALC Congegations, totalled $27,417.00.

Our Lord has enabled us to do together, for His glory, something that neither of us would have been able to do alone. Thanks be to God for His boundless blessings!

Project Timothy-Kenya

KenyaGreekStudentsThanks be to God, also, that Project Timothy-Kenya will begin a new school year at Matongo Lutheran Theological College, in Kenya.

With your gifts, The AALC Foundation was able to send The Saint Timothy Society checks totalling $7,868.

Dr. Aadland responded . . .

What a tremendous answer to prayer this is! On behalf of all those who are laying their lives before the Lord to train as His servants, pastors and deaconesses, thank you for supporting the work of Project Timothy - Kenya.

I shall be able to join students from Kenya as well as Uganda, South Sudan, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and now also applicants from Nigeria and Ethiopia… for another year of study of God's Word and the Lutheran Confessions.

Thank you again for this support! Combining funds that have been received in response to the appeal I sent out earlier this summer with contributions given in response to the Foundation appeal, will enable us to complete this year's work.

Dr. Aadland, a Presiding Pastor Emeritus of The AALC, is Dean of the Theological Faculty. His work in Kenya has had a growing impact in meeting the desperate need for pastors and deaconesses in the rapidly growing Lutheran church that spans much of eastern central Africa.
